Half term heatwave as temperatures rocket to 25 degrees

Liverpool is set to bask in warm sunshine all week this half term.

With schools off and lockdown measures beginning to ease it's the perfect time to enjoy some time outside in the garden or local park.

Bank Holiday Monday saw sunny skies dominate Merseyside, with highs of 20 degrees.

Tuesday is the only blip in the week with cloudier skies expected, but it's still staying mild with a high of 17 degrees.

On Wednesday the sun returns in full force, with bright sunshine set to shine down all day and temperatures expected to climb to 20 degrees.

And the weather keeps getting better with temperatures set to rocket to 25 degrees on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, accompanied by uninterrupted sunshine.

The Met Office forecast for this week said: "Tuesday will see cloudy start with the odd shower in the south and rain in the north.

"Into the afternoon, skies will clear from the north bringing some sunny spells. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

"Dry and cloudy on Wednesday, with light winds. Potentially sunnier on Thursday but slightly breezier.

"Friday should see plenty of sunshine."
