Half-price Edinburgh Tattoo tickets set to go on-sale – how you can get your hands on them

Half-price tickets for this year's Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo go on sale next week – as more than 1000 performers are set to arrive for the special Kaleidoscope show.

The preview show on the evening of 1 August will give audiences the first chance to see the production, which is inspired by the Scottish optical instrument first patented by Sir David Brewster more than 200 years ago.

Tickets, which are priced from £13.50, will go on-sale on Monday (22 July) at 10am.

The 100-minute concert is said to be packed with "dazzling performances rich with colour". There will be some incredible lighting, projections, sound and special effects.

The military contingents will be joined by a number of top international acts, including Musique de l’Artillerie from Lyon.

Brigadier David Allfrey, chief executive and producer at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said:   “We’re all set for another fantastic show in Edinburgh and I am delighted that we can offer our local audience and their guests an opportunity for a first glance through our Kaleidoscope.

"Every time you look through a kaleidoscope the light cuts through the components in an infinitely variable way.  We will do this on a grand scale this year. And, all this set to music.

“The Army is in the lead this year and will be working alongside some formidable military and cultural acts drawn from across the world. Our purpose is to bring people together for an entertaining and inspirational evening in front of Edinburgh Castle."
