American Idol contestant Haley Smith has died at the age of 26 in a motorbike crash.
She passed away early Saturday morning Millinocket, Maine, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Haley starred in the 11th season of the show when she auditioned in 2012 but didn't make it beyond the second round.
Police say she appeared to have failed to make a sharp turn along a residential road that turned into a motorway, according to TMZ.
Her father Mike told the site that she was riding on a country road at the time at the crash and her family believe a deer may have caused the accident.
Mike said she was a good rider and doubt she would have lost control of her motorbike.
During Haley's audition she sang Rufus and Chaka Khan's Tell Me Something Good and wowed the judges.
Steven Tyler even said it was an "honour" to hear her sing.
