Hale End starlet who says 'Arsenal is my home' signs new contract following Mohamed Elneny deal

Arsenal youngster Catalin Cirjan has signed a new contract with the club. The talented attacking midfielder joined the Gunners back in 2019 following a successful trial. He impressed for the club's Under 18s in his debut campaign before sustaining a long-term knee injury back in April of last year that has kept him out ever since.

However, the north Londoners have kept faith in the 19-year-old, offering him a new deal that he signed on Wednesday. A club statement read : "Catalin Cirjan has signed a new deal with the club.

"The 19-year-old Romanian youth international joined our academy as a scholar from Romanian side Viitorul Domnesti in July 2019. The midfielder impressed in his first season for our U18s side, and has recently recovered from a serious knee injury.

"Everyone at Arsenal would like to congratulate Catalin on his new contract and we look forward to seeing his continued development. The contract is subject to the completion of regulatory processes."

The Hale End starlet then took to social media to thank Arsenal for the faith they have shown in him. "Arsenal is my home", his Tweet read. "I was never in doubt. Looking forward to the next stage of my life at the club.

"I am happy to have signed my contract extension. It's now time to repay the trust I was shown and Arsenal's amazing supporters. #COYG."

It was the second contract announced by the club on Wednesday, with Egypt international Mohamed Elneny signing a one deal with an option of a further 12 months following an impressive end to the season.
