KANATA, Ontario _ Jaroslav Halak had his best start of the year, making 31 saves to lead the Islanders to a 2-1 win over the Senators on Saturday night.
He denied Derick Brassard in the final minute to preserve the Isles' third straight win and sixth in their last seven, with goals from Anders Lee and Jordan Eberle holding up.
Matt Duchene had his first goal with the Senators to cut the Isles lead in half with 4:21 to go, but Halak and his teammates held off the surge for the win.
