Yokozuna Hakuho, Sekiwake Asanoyama, No. 3 maegashira Mitakeumi and No. 13 maegashira Aoiyama remained unbeaten on Thursday with five wins each at the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka.
In the final bout of the day in a spectator-less Edion Arena Osaka, Hakuho, who is seeking a record-extending 44th title in the uppermost makuuchi division, threw down No. 2 maegashira Tokushoryu, who won his first Emperor's Cup at the previous tournament.
Asanoyama was scheduled to take on Takayasu, but won by forfeit when the No. 1 maegashira withdrew from the tournament because of an injury he suffered Wednesday.
Meanwhile, yokozuna Kakuryu also secured a victory to improve to 4-1.
