Yokozuna Hakuho earned his third consecutive victory of the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka City on Tuesday's Day 3.

The Mongolian struggled before pushing out No. 1 maegashira Takayasu (0-3) after he was unable to secure a grip on the maegashira's belt at the start of the bout.

No. 3 maegashira Mitakeumi and sekiwake Asanoyama, who is seeking a promotion to ozeki, kept their slates clean to stay on pace with Hakuho.

Yokozuna Kakuryu (2-1) rebounded from a Day 2 loss by quickly forcing out No. 2 maegashira Okinoumi (1-2).

Takakeisho, the lone ozeki, pushed out komusubi Endo (1-2) to stay one loss behind the tournament leaders.
