Hakim Ziyech's 10-word Instagram message as expected Chelsea return date is confirmed

Hakim Ziyech is closing in on a return for Chelsea.

The attacking midfielder, who has enjoyed an impressive start to life in west London following his £33.4m summer transfer from Ajax, has missed the last six games across all competitions.

Interestingly, since sustaining a hamstring injury in Chelsea 's 3-1 win over Leeds United at the beginning of the month, the side's form in the Premier League has stuttered.

However, despite recording one win in Ziyech's absence, Blues head coach Frank Lampard insists it's not related.

Chelsea: 2020 in review

"I don't think it’s a coincidence. I can’t rely completely on it," Lampard said after the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Monday evening.

"You never know the level of how much you are affected even if it seems clear on points because that's not something certain.

"But I think with Hakim the way he was playing, he was being very effective for us in terms of assists, goal creation, chance creation and some goals.

"And also a real confidence in the way he was playing and we were very fluid at the time. He got injured against Leeds when we were in a great run of form, so I think it has been a point.

"You are going to miss players at that level when they drop out and we want him back."

With that said, it may not be too long before Ziyech is available for selection.

In a massive boost for the Blues, Lampard has revealed that the playmaker could be in contention to play Manchester City on Sunday.

"Where is he at? There is a possibility he could be fit for Manchester City if it goes ahead on Sunday," Lampard confirmed. "I will know that later in the week, but he is certainly progressing to the point where he is very close to fitness.

As seen in the post above, following confirmation of his expected return date, Ziyech has been active on social media.

Although, it hasn't been to discuss his potentially imminent return, but rather to share a rather cryptic 10-word message.

"Stay TRUE in the Dark & HUMBLE in the spotlight," he wrote on Instagram.

There is a chance that Ziyech's return could be delayed.

This is because of a coronavirus outbreak within the City squad, which saw their clash with Everton at Goodison Park on Monday night postponed.
