Hairy Bikers share photo after Dave Myers' cancer treatment and fans are delighted to see him ‘fit and well’

Si King and Dave Myers took to Instagram over the weekend to share a joyous photo of the Geordie pair, otherwise known as the Hairy Bikers, enjoying a pint together. And while the post gave no news, only a simple message to their followers hoping they had a nice weekend, fans are overjoyed at seeing Dave with a big smile on his face and looking "fit and well".

The post read: "Just a couple of friends having a pint together! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Love Si and Dave."

Upon seeing this Instagram post on Sunday, February 5, fans flooded the Hairy Bikers' comments section marvelling at the pair - but especially Dave, who in May last year revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer.

@phillip_brewer wrote: "Well this photo has just warmed my heart. Legends! Amazing to see Dave looking so fit and well." @greggs_photography commented: "Happy to see you on the mend mr Myers."

Meanwhile, @liz.edgar.940 added: "You're looking so good Dave long may it continue, love you 2 guys" alongside @atlantiacag who said: "It's so good to see Dave looking so well! Legends, the pair of you."

"What a great sight to see. 2 marras enjoying a point. Looking good there too Dave. Champion. Cheers!" added another.

Dave was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 - although he's not revealed what time - and since has been undergoing chemotherapy, which saw him lose his hair. But now it seems the Hairy Biker is slowly returning to his former look and has been sporting a moustache and beard in recent weeks.

Speaking about his diagnosis for the first time, the 65-year-old announced the news on the pair's podcast Hairy Bikers - Agony Uncles, as reported by Sky News.

He said: "I've got to come clean now, I haven't been too well recently and, basically, I've got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway, so this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I'm not going to be filming, some of the festivals I'm not going to be able to go to, some may be OK but this year's a bit of a write-off for us.

"I have had to speak up about this because I don't want to hide under a rock, but I would love it if people respected my privacy and just let me get on with it and give Si and our team all the support they need, that would be great. But look, the prognosis is OK, I'm going to be fine. I may be a baldy biker for a while so it's just a warning, I don't want to make a fuss about it, I look alright bald actually."

Alongside his locks, the treatment caused him to lose his trademark moustache as well as his eyelashes - although he hasn't lost his sparkling humour and wit, saying in a video for his Hairy Bikers Agony Uncles podcast series that his wife likened him to Stanley Tucci.

He told BBC Breakfast in early 2023, when he appeared on the programme to talk about his and Si's latest show Hairy Bikers Go Local, that he now has "thicker hair than I had before I had the chemo".

He added: "I've been having treatment for cancer, it started in April. It's still ongoing but I'm kinda doing alright. It's like many people, it's something that one learns to live with."
