Hairy Bikers' Dave Myers delights fans as he returns to This Morning and shares cancer update

Dave Myers has delighted fans as he was back alongside his sidekick Si King on This Morning. The last time Si was on the ITV daytime show he was cooking solo as Dave was forced to take time out of his work due to undergoing treatment for cancer.

The Hairy Bikers star revealed back in May 222 that he was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed the disease but didn't specify where the cancer was found. Dave, who found fame as one half of cooking duo alongside friend Simon 'Si' King, revealed the news of his cancer diagnosis on an episode of the pair's Agony Uncles podcast and said that he didn't want to 'hide under a rock', but said he would be away from work and asked fans to 'respect his privacy' as he underwent treatment.

But last month, Dave shared how he hoped to be returning to filming. Speaking on Tommy Banks' Seasoned podcast, he explained that he is still having chemotherapy for cancer after being diagnosed last year but that there are multiple projects going on for the Hairy Bikers.

And so fans were thrilled as he appeared on This Morning on Wednesday (April 26) where he and Si cooked up a storm in the kitchen for hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Before they kicked off the cooking, Phillip asked: "Before we start, how are you?" which left Dave with a beaming smile. He admitted: "I'm doing very well and it's so nice to be back Phil. It's a working progress and I've got my hair back and doing well."

Phillip reiterated their pleasure of having him on the show and added: "It's really lovely to have you back." Getting on with cooking, the 61-year-old asked: "What you making for us?" to which Dave, 65, replied: "Well it’s very healthy. It’s lamb kofte kebab, served with a wholemeal couscous salad with a lemon and tahini dressing."

"That’s the bit I’m really excited about,” Holly, 42, said. “Half of it is the main event, but the other half – and possibly more important – is what you dunk it in. Dave then quipped: “Well, like you and Phil, when you come together as a whole, it’s far better isn’t it!"

Later on during their segment, their teamwork was back in full flow as Si thanked Dave for sorting out the sauce to their recipe Realising it had already been done he got to it, Si commented: "So glad you are back!" as Dave laughed: "I am so glad to be back, it's like coming home."
