Hairdressers offers 'silent' cut or colour for those who hate small talk

Small talk is second nature for some people - for others it is like pulling teeth.

Some people walk into a room of strangers and are at easy immediately, while others struggle to order food in a restaurant, or even refuse to complain if the food ordered is completely wrong.

Hating pointless small talk can even influence decisions to put off small tasks, such as getting a hair cut - many people let their hair grow needlessly long just so they don't have to make idle chit chat with a stranger.

Many barbers lubricate the gears of conversation by discussing topics such as weather, or the hairdressers staple go to topic - going somewhere nice on your holidays. If you are someone who hates getting a haircut for this very reason - we have a solution for you.

A London-based salon is now offering a new service for those of us who dread going to the hairdressers because of the inevitable small talk that goes with it, as reported by The Mirror.

Not Another Salon  has an option for 'silent' cut or colour when they book, promising conversation during the appointment will only be hair related.

Owner Sophia Hilton said: "In order for us to be a true non-judgment company we need to consider all our clients' needs.

"With mental health issues on the rise, feeling comfortable to say when you need time out couldn't be more important."

The salon's website explains the bright decor is designed to take customers back to their childhood - 'a time where you didn't feel the social pressure you feel today'.

It reads: "We are all a bunch of misfits, who came together to one place to be accepted for who we are and our aim is to make you feel as ‘you’ as we feel every day.

"Our purpose in life goes much deeper than great hair, it's about change in mentality. Spreading the idea that it is in fact ‘cool’ to be kind. We operate a strict no judgement policy and our clients are from every walk of life."
