Hairdressers are in revolt over what they consider to be a triple whammy attack on their industry.
The Irish Hairdressers Federation says its members are struggling to stay afloat in the face of cost increases overseen by Government.
They include recent VAT increases, a rise in the minimum wage and the failure of the Government to rein in rogue landlords charging exorbitant rents.
The hairdressers have now had enough and they have taken their protests to Leinster House, with letters outlining their concerns sent to all of our national politicians.

VAT hike will leave restaurants with no option but to close, top chef warns
TDs, Senators and Ministers all received a copy of the letter this month which outlines what the industry reps see as a crisis they are battling.
David Campbell is President of the IHF and he says the sector that has “produced some of the best hairdressers in the world” is under very real threat.
He said: “Why is this Government determined to drain the life out of indigenous industries which have helped keep communities and villages the length and breadth of the country alive and providing employment for generations of families?
“This industry has produced some of the best hairdressers in the world.
“Government should recognise such talent and what it brings to the exchequer.
“These negative attacks on the industry will serve only one purpose that will be to fuel the black-market forcing businesses to close and leaving staff with no alternative employment opportunities, forcing people into unregulated business activities.”
