Hairdressers have been told they can start preparing to re-open in Wales.
Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford has set out the Welsh Government's plans to reopen non-essential shops from Monday, June 22 and to remove the five-mile or "stay local" restrictions on July 6.
Mr Drakeford has also spoked about the re-opening of hair salons and told hairdressers to spend the next three weeks on preparing to re-open.
At the Welsh Government's next review, it will confirm whether hair and beauty services can resume on an appointment-only basis from July 13.
Speaking at the Welsh Government's press conference on Friday, Mr Drakeford said: "Hairdressers should use the next three weeks to make preparations to resume services by appointment only with all the necessary safeguarding in place."
He added: "We're giving an indication to hairdressers and people in similar occupations that they too should now think of the next three weeks as time to think about how they can re-open and how they can do it safely. We'll be talking to the representative bodies in those sectors who can't cut hair at a two-metre distance so there will have to be some careful safety precautions put in place.
"But if we can use these three weeks productively to have those discussions and if in three weeks time we continue to see a falling pattern of the circulation of the virus in Wales we're giving a signal that that part of our economy could resume as well."
This is the current timetable the Welsh Government is working towards:
Monday 22 June:
- Non-essential retail shops can reopen with social distancing in place.
- House viewings in vacant properties can take place and postponed sales can be completed.
- Outdoor sports courts can reopen (but not for contact or team activities).
- Outdoor markets can reopen.
- Places of worship can reopen for private prayer.
- Childcare facilities will reopen on a phased basis to support people returning to work.
Monday 29 June:
- All pupils can return to school in a phased approach.
Monday July 6:
- "Stay local" rule lifted, if the number of Covid-19 cases continues to fall.
- Tourist attractions and national parks can reopen.
Monday July 13:
- Owners of entirely self-contained holiday accommodation can reopen.
- Hairdressers and beauty salons can reopen by appointment only.
Lindsey Hughes, who runs the Hair By Chance salon in Whitchurch, Cardiff, said she was delighted to finally have a date they can work towards.
She said: "I have had lots of people asking when they can book in and I haven't been able to say anything because we didn't have a date. This means that I can go ahead now and start planning.
"I am lucky because I have quite a big salon so we can space out, so we have worked out it will be doable. I am also planning to work seven days a week and longer hours to catch up with the backlog."
But Teresa Henson, who has a salon in Newport, said she was upset they had to wait another three weeks.
"I have put safety screens in my shop making my salon one way and the working area separate from waiting area," she said. "I am only allowing three people at one time , four if from same household in distanced seats.
"I have hand gel on entrance and exit points and am working on appointment only to stop queues outside. I have gowns, gloves, aprons and masks for myself and every tool and area will be sanitised after every customer.
"I feel people are safer in my salon than going to a supermarket where people are acting like everything is back to normal and using trolleys without cleaning them."
But the First Minister said the coronavirus outbreak is not over.
"Through all our efforts we have succeeded in bringing the fire of coronavirus under control but that fire is not out," he said.
He said we all need to continue to play our part and to protect ourselves, families and communities.
Mr Drakeford said: "Together, over the last three months, we have made an enormous effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus across Wales.
"We are now making concerted steps to resume something approaching a new normal while living alongside coronavirus."
