Hairdresser's shock after client walks out half way through appointment

It always hurts when someone betrays your trust.

And one salon owner was in disbelief when one of her client's dishonesty left a hairdresser £70 out of pocket.

James Clarke runs no 23 Hair and Beauty Studio in Devonport.

He had booked a woman in under the name Helen Lee, now believed to be a false name, for a full head tint and foils - which costs around £70.

However, after the treatments were put in, the woman asked whether she could go across the road to get some food and then come in and eat it while her hair developed.

Shockingly, she never returned and now ignores the salon's calls, Mr Clarke told Plymouth Live .

He said: "I am really upset with the way this lady has acted and I would hate for this to happen to any other salon.

"Our stylists are self-employed and when someone receives a service from them they deserve to be paid for it. Incidents like this have a big impact on small independent businesses like ours."

The mystery woman had a picture of her hair taken before the treatment, which is shared above.

Mr Clarke has confirmed the incident has been reported to the police.

'Maybe there was an emergency'

He continued: "Maybe there was an emergency or some other reason for her leaving and if so we are sure we will understand.

"If not then we would like to warn any of the other lovely salons in Plymouth to watch out for this lady whose mobile number ends in '291'.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our fantastic regular clients who would never dream of doing anything like this and for your continued support and custom over the past few years."

If you have any information, please contact the salon on 01752 551419.
