Hair salon in Co Louth forced to shut its doors after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

A hair salon has been forced to close after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Envy Hair Salon in Ardee, Co Louth says all staff have now been tested and will be retested in seven days.

All clients who were in touch with the staff member have also been contacted by both the salon and the HSE contact tracing team in regard to a test.

In an emotional post on Facebook, owner Linda Winstone said she is ‘devastated’ and in apologising to all clients, stressed that she ensured all procedures and more were in place to protect staff and clients prior to re-opening.

“We all wore masks and shields, disposable aprons and everything was sanitised after each client. Plus all clients wore masks.

“A staff member has tested positive for Covid-19 last week. She is still unwell and fighting her battle.

“All staff members were tested today and will be tested again in seven days.”

She added: “All clients who had contact with this person has been contacted today by myself and the HSE contact tracing team will phone them to arrange a test. I’m so sorry.

“So we are going to close until we get the all clear, so fingers crossed we are all negative and can return to work on the 22nd-23rd.”
