Haim postpone SSE Hydro gig to 2022 after covid restrictions stop them travelling

Popular US band Haim have been forced to postpone their stadium gig in the UK to 2022 due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

The LA three-piece initially planned to play their UK tour, including the date at SSE Hydro, later this year.

However the sisters took to Instagram to share the news that after travel restrictions imposed by the Centre for Disease Control, they will be moving their SSE Hydro gig to next year.

A press release cited the CDC’s recent Level Four travel health notice, which imposes restrictions on US citizens from entering the UK.

They wrote: "Hey guys. Sadly because of the new CDC covid travel restrictions we've been told we have to postpone our eight September shows in the UK and Dublin to next summer (new dates are in the poster).

"We can’t wait to bring wimpiii to the stage and we’re going to go even harder as soon as we’re allowed to play for you. Until then, everybody stay safe and we love you".

The gig is now scheduled for July 2022 and all ticket holders should have been emailed last night regarding their options.

Thousands commented under the post to share their disappointment.

One wrote: "So sad but you guys have to do what you’ve gotta do! iI'll see you in July."

Another said: "safety always first" to which another replied "Sadly it’s not even a safety thing between the lines - it’s a covid insurance thing, If the CDC says bands shouldn’t tour abroad for health reasons then insurance won’t insure."
