Hail, thunder, and snow could hit Dublin TODAY as Met Eireann forecast horrible Irish weather

Put on the big jacket because it's going to be a cold, wet, and windy day in Dublin.

Hail and thunder could also rain down on the capital as Met Eireann have warned the terrible weather is set to continue into the week.

Today will see a mix of sunny spells, although there's also a risk of snow in certain patches.

They said: "Today will be a cold and blustery day, with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, the showers mainly of rain and hail, with a risk of thunder.

"Showers will be more prolonged in places during the morning.

"A few isolated wintry showers of sleet or snow are possible also over higher ground. Maximum temperatures 7 or 8 Celsius, in moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds."

Tonight will see the rain ease a bit, but things will stay chilly so be prepared for some frost in parts.

"Showers will largely die out in the early night and winds will ease. It will be mostly dry overnight, with clear spells at first, but cloud will increase from the west later, possibly bringing some rain by morning.

"Minimum temperatures 0 to 3 Celsius, with a risk of frost in sheltered places. Winds mostly moderate westerly."

Tomorrow will ease off a little - rain is expected to lash down but only in patches.

"Wednesday will be windy and mostly cloudy or overcast, with occasional outbreaks of rain, but some dry spells will develop later in the afternoon.

"Quite mild, in fresh to strong and gusty south to southwest winds. Maximum temperatures 9 or 10 Celsius."
