Hail has showered Sydney and parts of the NSW north coast as a dangerous low pressure system moves over the state through the night.
As of 7:00pm on Saturday, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) was warning of "large, possibly giant hailstones", heavy rainfall and damaging winds for parts of the Hunter, Sydney and Illawarra.
Sydney's Sutherland Shire was pelted by 3 centimetre hail around 1:00pm and hours later hail hit further north in areas including Forster and Ballina.
The State Emergency Service(SES) had to rescue four people from floodwaters in Ulladulla, Albion Park and Dapto.
Since 9.00am on Saturday, Moruya had 131 millimetres of rain and Ulladulla had more than 100mm in the past three-to-four hours.
The Princes Highway flooded at various locations in Ulladulla and drivers were advised to exercise caution.
Fire and Rescue crews attended the Woolworths in Albion Park after the roof collapsed and caused the store to flood.
Heavy winds have also caused a landslide on the Snowy Mountains Highway near Brown Mountain.
Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) duty forecaster Shuang Wang said conditions were very unstable.
"Wind, rainfall and hail could be worse for the north-eastern parts of NSW," she said.
Ms Wang said conditions will ease by Sunday but winds will still be strong on the coast.
Power has been restored to residents in Sydney's northern suburbs including Mona Vale, Ingleside and Elanora Heights.
