Hail and thunder could hit Dublin as Met Eireann warn of more turbulent weather for Ireland

It's going to be a turbulent day in Dublin as Met Eireann have warned of another day of bad weather.

Rain has belted down this morning and things will get heavy later on with experts saying there could be hail and thunder.

Despite this we will see some short sunny spells in between and the turbulent conditions should get better as the evening goes on.

Met Eireann said: "The last of the overnight rain will quickly clear into the Irish Sea this morning. Blustery today, with sunny spells and scattered heavy showers.

"The showers will be wintry at times with a risk of hail and thunder also. Showers becoming clearing by evening. Highs of 6 to 7 degrees but feeling cooler in brisk westerly winds."

Tonight will see a small temperature rise while the rain will calm down even more.

"Dry early tonight, with clear spells allowing temperatures to fall to between 3 and 5 degrees. However temperatures will rise overnight as cloud increases and drizzle arrives towards morning. Southwesterly winds will strengthen.

Friday will be wet and windy in the morning, but rain will be "light and patchy" at least.

They said: "A cloudy breezy start, with rain and drizzle arriving during the morning. The rain will generally be light and patchy in nature, with drier interludes at times. Highs of 11 degrees, in strong and gusty southwesterly winds."
