Haghill: Police helicopter in hunt for two men seen 'acting suspiciously' in Glasgow's east end

A police helicopter was deployed this afternoon in a bid to hunt two men who had been seen 'acting suspiciously' in Glasgow's east end.

The search operation is continuing this evening after the two men fled the scene on Dreghorn Street in Haghill at around 1.15pm.

Meanwhile, police say a recently stolen car has been recovered from the area.

Residents reported seeing a large emergency service presence and a police helicopter in the neighbourhood on a local Dennistoun community Facebook page.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15pm on Friday, 20 August, police saw two men acting suspiciously in Dreghorn Street, Glasgow.

“The men, one wearing black and one wearing grey, ran off from the scene and officers are carrying out a search of the surrounding area to trace them.

“A recently stolen car has also been recovered from the area.

“Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1578 of Friday, 20 August, 2021.”
