It’s been a crazy week with the Supreme Court giving us one verdict after the other to discuss and dissect. In this episode, we have our in-house columnist and Constitution expert Meghnad and freelance journalist Rishi Majumder join the regular Hafta gang of Abhinandan Sekhri, Madhu Trehan and Manisha Pande.
Abhinandan and Meghnad are distraught since they finally have to get their Aadhaar cards made. The SC has upheld its constitutional validity and mandated it for filing income tax returns. The team discusses the verdict and its high and low points.
The conversation then moves towards the Rafale deal. Madhu suggests an all-new pronunciation and Abhinandan wonders if we’re living in an age where we are desensitised to scams. Amit Shah’s ‘termite’ speech also gets discussed and Rishi, who’s from Assam, tells us about the narrative of ‘the other’ in the state. Listen up.
