Hadrian's Tower bar 3SIXTY to reopen after lift issues left Newcastle diners furious

Newcastle's sky-high bar and restaurant has confirmed that it will be reopening this weekend after lift issues forced it to close for more than a month.

Hadrian's Tower venue, 3SIXTY, closed in October and engineers have spent weeks carrying out maintenance work on its only lift. However, the ongoing issue has now been resolved and the bar is set to reopen on Friday, November 25.

It will come as welcome news to diners looking to celebrate the festive season at the bar and restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the city. Venue bosses have confirmed that parties who already have Christmas bookings at the venue will now be contacted to confirm their event will still be able to go ahead.

During its closure, ChronicleLive reported how many customers had claimed that they turned up at the venue for their reservation only to find that it was closed. Customers on Tripadvisor said special occasions such as 18th birthdays were "ruined" after they arrived at 3SIXTY for their party to find that it was shut without any prior warning.

3SIXTY said it had contacted bookings directly to inform them of the temporary closure and apologised to anyone that had not been informed.

The venue has now thanked customers for their patience and said it would be offering a free glass of fizz to customers this weekend to celebrate its reopening.

Natalie Ellis, from operators The One Collection Group, said: "We’d like to thank everyone who has been affected by our temporary closure for their understanding and patience. Our team have worked incredibly hard to ensure we are back open in time for the festive period.

"We can’t wait to welcome you back to the top of Newcastle to celebrate your birthdays, engagements, and, of course, Christmas and New Year!

"Our diary is now open and our reservations team will be contacting all large parties and private bookings to ensure that everything is in place for your visit.”
