Hadrian's Tower bar 3SIXTY celebrates first birthday after welcoming host of stars

Newcastle's highest bar has become a celebrity haunt attracting some of the biggest names on TV along with footballers in its first year of opening.

The 3SIXTY bar and restaurant at the top of Hadrian's Tower offers incredible views across the city which have been a hit with drinkers since it opened in May last year. 3SIXTY says that despite the challenges of launching during the pandemic, around 40,000 guests have visited the bar in its first 12 months.

And the appeal of the sky-high venue has attracted a number of footballers and celebrity guests during that time, including Amanda Holden, Jamie Theakston and Vick Hope. Heart Breakfast hosts, Amanda and Jamie, stopped off at the bar for cocktails during a charity visit to the Toon in October last year.

3SIXTY bosses have been delighted by its success as they get set to celebrate the first anniversary of the venue on May 17 with a week of special events.

"In our first year we welcomed 40,000 guests through our doors, something we are extremely pleased with due to launching during the pandemic," a 3SIXTY spokeswoman said. "Over the last year, we have welcomed celebrities such as Amanda Holden, Jamie Theakston, Vick Hope, and multiple footballers to 3SIXTY.

"3SIXTY is set to open its doors on its birthday week to spoil guests with a host of new events to celebrate one-year since its opening."

Visitors to the popular bar and restaurant will be able to sample its new food and drinks menu whilst enjoying the sights from 26-floors above the city during the special week of events. The celebrations will kick off with a free networking afternoon from 3pm on May 23, where guests can sample afternoon tea along with a new working lunch and refined small-plates menu.

Tuesday will see those who have booked in for the afternoon tea upgraded to a Laurent-Perrier option featuring a free glass of champagne. A 'ladies night' will be held on May 25, offering two-for-one cocktails from 5pm.

Thursday will cater to post-work drinks featuring new range of new whiskeys, wines, spirits and beers. Across the entire weekend, the party will continue with a 'Sommelier Evening’ and wine tasting on Friday night.

An exclusive invitation-only party featuring live entertainment will be held on Saturday as part of 3SIXTY's new ‘Platinum Saturday's' event. Whilst Sunday will see those enjoying Sunday Lunch receive a free dessert.

Booking is essential for all of the events during the venue's birthday week. More details can be found at https://3sixtynewcastle.co.uk/
