Hackney stabbing: London knife crime continues with man in serious condition after broad daylight attack

A man is in a serious condition after being stabbed in broad daylight in the latest incident of knife violence on the streets of London.

The incident, in Hackney Wick, happened around 1.53pm today.

It comes amid a spate of knife crime in the capital, with multiple deaths in recent days.

Scotland Yard officers raced to the scene after reports of a disturbance to discover the man with stab wounds in Leabank Square.

A spokesperson for the Met said: "Officers attended and found a man at the location with stab wounds.

"LAS (London Ambulance Service) and London's Air Ambulance attended the scene.

"The man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition."

​Nearby residents reported seeing the helicopter land and a heavy police presence.

​One image appeared to show a man with injuries to his hands and wrists.

At least five police cars were at the scene.

​A crime scene has been put in place and no arrests have been made at this time, while officers are making enquiries.
