Hackers have used the telephone operator number of the Kuwaiti foreign ministry to deceive citizens, the ministry warned on Tuesday.
The hackers have been calling individuals claiming that they represent the ministry and requesting fund transfers to fake and suspicious accounts of universities where they have been previously registered, it said in a statement.
Some of the hackers have asked for remittances for accrediting scholastic certificates, said the ministry.
The statement has called for caution on fraudulent acts, warning against dealing with anonymous individuals.
