Erling Haaland scored twice in the last 11 minutes to sweep Norway past Brazil into the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.
His first came in the 79th minute.
Andreas Schjelderup floated the ball across from the left wing and Haaland leapt up in front of Brazil defender Gabriel to plant a header past the goalkeeper Alisson.
It was his 53rd goal in his 62nd game for his country.
On the cusp of stoppage time, it was number 54.
Norway's goal machine
The 25-year-old picked up the ball just ouside the Brazil penalty area and flashed a shot through the legs of Danilo that flew into the left hand corner of the goal.
The finale contrasted sharply with the start in which Brazil dominated possession. Carlo Ancelotti's men were awarded a penalty in the 14th minute after Norway defender Kristoffer Ajer fouled Matheus Cunha in the penalty area.
Bruno Guimares stepped up to take the kick but Norway goalkeeper Orjan Nyland dived to his left to push away the shot.
Nyland excels in Norway goal
After the pause, Nyland was the busier of the two goalkeepers and his case was aided by Brazilian profligacy.
Substitute Endrick should have scored in the 62nd minute when he had only Nyland to beat with his shot.
But his effort went past the 35-year-old and the left hand post of the goal.
"At the beginning it seemed to me we were a controlled team," said Ancelotti.
"We were creating opportunities but it was difficult to put on too much pressure because Norway was locking its defence and applying too much was a risk."
Ancelotti sent on veteran striker Neymar mid way through the second half n an attempt to create the openings.
But it was Haaland who stole the limelight even though Neymar, playing in his fourth World Cup, had the final world.
He converted a stoppage time penalty after Leo Ostigard elbowed Casemiro in the face.
It was effectively his last contribution to the competition.
The 34-year-old sat on the field hunched over and in tears after the final whistle.
The Norwegians were on the deck in triumph.
Haaland led the team's rowing boat celebrations in front of jubilant supporters.
Haaland and co, playing in Norway's first World Cup since 1998, voyage onwards.
They will take on either England or Mexico in the quarter-final on 11 July in Miami.
