Welcome to the latest edition of the City Is Ours daily round-up, where we take a look at some of the Manchester City stories you might have missed.
Erling Haaland’s father - former City captain Alf-Inge Haaland - has news that could disappoint Blues, as the academy player who’s been dubbed as the ‘Salford Silva’ generates some unwanted derby weekend interest.
Elsewhere, a City-linked La Liga high-flyer admits he admires a move to the Premier League.
Haaland’s father disheartens Europe
Erling Haaland has been one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe for the past two years. Manchester City, as well as many other clubs, have been linked with the young striker and a clause in his contract means he could be on the market ahead of next season for less than £70million.
However, Haaland’s father has handed all the teams interested in his son a huge blow
When asked about Erling's future, Alfie said: "We‘ll see about that. Look behind me, at this beautiful stadium [in Dortmund].
"He’s in a fantastic club. We’ll take those things as they come."
Not the most encouraging response if you’re a club going for Haaland, but we're sure there are plenty more twists and turns to come in this one.
McAtee attracts enemy interest
Manchester City’s academy has been improving year by year. With the likes of Cole Palmer and Liam Delap joining Phil Foden in graduating to the senior setup, another player who is attracting wide interest is prolific midfielder James McAtee.
McAtee has impressed so much during his time in the City ranks that he’s been labelled the ‘Salford Silva’ on account of his elegant style of play. Praise indeed when you consider David Silva recently had a statue of himself unveiled outside the Etihad Stadium.
However, The Mirror has suggested bitter rivals Manchester United are one of a number of big clubs monitoring McAtee’s situation as the teenager enters the final 18 months of his contract. The report also suggests La Liga giants Barcelona are among his admirers.
McAtee bagged a hat-trick against Club Brugge during City’s UEFA Youth League defeat last week and is clearly a prospect fans want to see flourish right where he is.

Alexander Isak open to a Premier League switch
City failed in their pursuit of a striker in the summer and one player who has been linked with that ongoing vacancy at the Etihad Stadium is Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak.
Isak, in an interview with The Independent, revealed his desire to move to the Premier League.
“I’m in a good place at the moment, I’m very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well," he said.
"They have six or seven of the biggest clubs in the world, it’s a very high level, and of course one day it would be an alternative. Every player wants to be the best version of themselves and reach the highest possible level.”
The 22-year-old Sweden international’s contract expires in June 2026, but that is doing nothing to quell speculation. Could City be one of the clubs to make a move?
