Haaland next club as 'Real Madrid confident of Pogba deal' and more Man United transfer rumours

Manchester United have been dealt a blow this afternoon after Bayern Munich's chief executive gave an indication on where he believes Erling Haaland will play next season after speaking to Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has predicted that Haaland - who has quickly become one of the best players in world football - will remain at Dortmund next season.

The 21-year-old Norwegian striker has scored a whopping 70 goals in 69 appearances across Bundesliga and European games since signing for Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January 2020.

His red hot form has seen Haaland linked with most major clubs in Europe, with Manchester United and Manchester City — along with Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid — seemingly interested.

In his column in Bild, he said: “I recently had an espresso with my ex-colleague Aki Watzke in Munich.

In more potentially bad news for United, Real Madrid are reportedly looking at the Premier League to strengthen their squad next year.

Marca claim Paul Pogba and Antonio Rudiger are the two players at the top of their transfer shortlist as they look for fresh faces in the New Year.

The report claims agent Mino Raiola 'is no longer seen as a potential issue in a deal being done, and the club are far more confident of securing the World Cup winner's services than they were a couple of months ago.'

And finally, United are believed to have missed out on former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who was reportedly on their radar last summer.

The Mail suggest United looked at signing the Paris Saint-Germain man earlier in the year when a possible deal for Declan Rice became too costly.

Gueye has blossomed into one of the better defensive midfielders in world football since leaving the Premier League.
