'Haaland', 'Calvert-Lewin' – Arsenal fans have transfer wish for Edu after spotting issue

Arsenal fans think that they need to sign a striker on loan in January who is both strong and good in the air if they want to do well this season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have been the Gunners’ two main goalscorers for the past few seasons, but with the latter set to leave at the end of the season providing he doesn’t extend his current contract, Arsenal will need to start looking at replacements as soon as possible.

As expressed on social media platform Reddit, some fans have become concerned by Arsenal’s lack of aerial threat, as the Gunners have consistently seen crosses unconverted because of a lack of physicality in the box.

Defences have often let Arsenal progress down the wings because they know that the threat in the box is easy to deal with, which is obviously a concern for Mikel Arteta moving forward.

Aubameyang has always been known as a great finisher, but he has never been the strongest nor the best ball-playing centre-forward and he is arguably at his best when deployed as a left-forward as oppose to through the middle.

On the other hand, Lacazette has always been praised for how he holds up play but has struggled to record the prolific numbers Arsenal need to start challenging again.

So, when a fan posed the question of whether there is a striker who can be signed on loan in January who is good as a lone man up top and in the air, Arsenal fans had a few suggestions – some realistic and some somewhat overly ambitious.

Take a look at who they’d like to sign.

The Gunners have won both of their last two games in the Premier League against Norwich and Burnley respectively, but as they have scored just two goals in five league appearances so far this season, you can certainly understand why fans have this worry.
