Haaland and Mbappe in Real Madrid transfer crosshairs as La Liga president reveals Bernabeu inner secrets

Real Madrid are set to unleash their financial might on the transfer market this summer as La Liga president Javier Tebas claims they have the means to sign Erling Haaland AND Kylian Mbappe.

La Liga champions Real are known for their financial muscle with Florentino Perez rarely shy to splash the cash.

The 'Galacticos' era saw Los Blancos break transfer records all over the shop with everyone from David Beckham to Cristiano Ronaldo arriving on unprecedented deals.

But the pandemic has made its presence felt and youngster Eduardo Camavinga is the only player they have spent a fee on since 2019.

However it seems that's soon about to change. They've been linked with a move for PSG's Kylian Mbappe after failing to land him in the summer, while Erling Haaland has also been mooted with his £65m release clause set to become active.

And La Liga chief Tebas gave an interview on Spanish radio station SPORT1, where he indicated it may not even be one or the other as far as Mbappe and Haaland are concerned.

"Real have enough money to sign Mbappe and Haaland next summer," he said.

Mbappe is out of contract in the summer and isn't expected to pen a new deal, so he is likely to be available on a free.

And £65m for Haaland, who has scored 74 goals in 72 games for Borussia Dortmund, is a bargain.

Both would command huge salaries, but Tebas' comments took the La Liga salary cap into consideration, so both could be signed while still complying with league rules.

Competition may be the only problem - particularly in the case of Haaland, who has Manchester United and City jostling for position.
