At H&M we work hard to create a sustainable future and cotton is the material we use the most. For a number of years H&M has been the world’s biggest user of certified organic cotton. Aside from further increasing our use of organic cotton in the future, we are investing heavily in better cotton and gradually increasing our use of recycled cotton.
All in all we are on track with our target to use only cotton coming from these sources by 2020 at the latest. Another example is that last year we used an amount of polyester equivalent to 7.9m plastic bottles. To find out more about our support for innovation in sustainable materials watch the film above.
