H&M releases first images from Moschino collaboration starring Gigi Hadid

Steven Meisel

H&M has released the first set images from its highly-anticipated collaboration with Moschino, which is due to arrive in stores next month.

The campaign is fronted by Gigi Hadid, who is photographed wearing a bodycon leather-look dress and knee-high boots from the collection.

Designed by Moschino’s creative director Jeremy Scott, the clothes are said to be inspired by a 1950 haute couture show, championing flashy accessories and statement prints.

Shot by esteemed fashion photographer Steven Meisel, the two snaps offer a sneak peak at the collection which is expected to sell out within days.

Hadid, who is a regular on the catwalk for both Moschino and Jeremy Scott’s eponymous label, poses solo in an opulent living room, dripping in logomania and gaudy gold jewellery that is typical of the Italian fashion house.

The second image is a group shot, featuring models Rianne Von Rompaey, Yasmin Wijnaldum, Stella Maxwell, Soo Joo Park and Imaan Hammam, whose outfits, awash with silver sequins and gold lamé, offer a masterclass in metallic sartorial splendour.

While the retailer has yet to reveal every piece included in the collection, Scott tells British Vogue that the clothes will take a sportswear-meets-evening aesthetic, with pieces including cropped puffa jackets, hockey jerseys and parka dresses.

Judging from the campaign imagery, leather, gold and chain prints will also be prominent fixtures.

The collaboration has been causing a stir in the fashion industry since it was announced in April, when Scott posed alongside Hadid at Coachella music festival, both clad in pieces from the collection.

Prices range from £25 to £300, making the pieces far more affordable than regular Moschino, where hooded sweatshirts can cost as much as £900.

H&M collaborates with high-end fashion designers once a year - and the collections are always a huge hit among shoppers.

Previous collaborations have included Erdem, Balmain, Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney.

For Scott, partnering with the high street retailer is about offering his clothes to a wider range of people.

"I am so excited about Moschino [tv] H&M," he said when the partnership was announced.

"My life’s work has been to connect with people through fashion, and with this collaboration I’ll be able to reach more of my fans than I’ve ever had the ability to do."

The collection launches in stores and online on 8 November.
