H&M launch new designer collaboration with South African label Mantsho

Elbows at the ready. H&M launch their latest designer collaboration today and we think you're going to like it.

The Swedish high street retailer has teamed up with South African label Mantsho to create a must-have collection featuring flowing easy fitting dresses with feminine frills and gathers.

Established in 2004, Mantsho, which means 'black is beautiful' in designer Palesa Mokubung's native Sesotho language is a popular fixture on the Johannesburg fashion circuit.

The new collaboration is most notable because Mokubung is the first African designer to collaborate with the brand, which has previously teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld, Moschino and Erdem.

The iconic printed pieces are available in a colour palette of blues, browns, blacks and hues of pinks and amber reds from hm.com and in stores nationwide. Prices range from £24.99 to £79.99.

“This is my love letter to the world from Africa,” says Mantsho’s head of design, Palesa Mokubung. “I hope customers around the world will enjoy this ensemble of my stand-out pieces from my last three collections.

Pernilla Wohlfahrt, assortment manager for collaborations and special collections for H&M, added: “Palesa’s creativity with colour, print and silhouettes is inspiring as she celebrates the female form through her designs which complement the female shape in a flattering and playful way."
