Indoor gyms and swimming pools will be allowed to open for individual exercise on Monday, Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed.
Gyms and leisure centres are due to reopen on Monday 26 April, when Scotland will move to a ‘modified’ version of the Level Three restrictions that were in place before lockdown.
People will initially only be able to exercise alone or with people in their household.
Group exercise, such as classes, are due to return on 17 May, along with adult outdoor contact sport.
Level one restrictions are due on June 7 and will see a further easing of restrictions.
Next Monday gyms are likely to have a maximum capacity and maintain a one-way system, while the wearing of masks will be recommended while walking around the gym floor.
