A Wigan gym has been ordered to close after staying open during the latest lockdown.
The notice was handed to Majestic Gym in Pemberton at the end of last week.
It's the second time owner Kevin Harper has kept his business open despite a national lockdown.
The gym director refused to shut his doors when England went into its second national lockdown in November last year.
He said he was “standing up for what he believes is right” after being asked by members to remain open.
Boris Johnson confirmed a third national lockdown on Jan 4, with the country going into tougher measures as Covid cases once again rise.
Gyms were among the facilities ordered to close under the new rules.
A spokesman for Wigan Council said: “A direction to close was issued to the owner of Majestic Gym in Pemberton at the end of last week after it stayed open during the latest lockdown.
“While restrictions remain in place it's vital we all continue to do our bit so we can lower infection rates, protect the NHS and ultimately save lives.
“We continue to monitor and follow up any reports of businesses open.”
Mr Harper refused to comment when approached by the Manchester Evening News .
He previously told the PA news agency in November: “The government really needs to think about the position on this.
“I don’t have a criminal record, I’m not known to the police, I’ve never been in trouble with the law, and I’m being criminalised for doing what I think is standing up for what I believe is right, and also protecting the rights of my members, who are paying members, to come and exercise.”
