Gwyneth Paltrow throws son socially distanced parade of his pals on his birthday

Gwyneth Paltrow has thrown her son Moses a lavish birthday party inside the COVID-19 "safer at home" lockdown.

The actress, 47, invited all of his best friends to come over to drive past the house with banners and balloons to celebrate her boy's 14th birthday.

Her ingenious plan allowed Moses to be still able to see his friends while sticking to the guidelines in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

His friends blasted music and waved wildly to the birthday boy.

They even dropped off presents for Moses as he spent his day celebrating at home with his famous family.

Gwyneth wrote: "This kid is the best and he is 14 today. Unbelievable.

"He is the kindest little man and he has the most unique way of looking at the world and expressing himself.

"Mosey, I could not be more proud of you in every way. You conquer all you set out to do, you never quit, you are immensely talented and a great friend.

"I hope you never stop hugging me goodbye when you go into the next room. I love you."

Gwyneth and Chris have brought up their children Moses and Apple amicably despite their split.

The couple were wed in 2003 but their romance wasn't meant to last.

The celeb pair famously said they "unconsciously uncoupled" when their marriage broke down in 2016.
