Gwyneth Paltrow fiercely dismissed a critic who questioned whether she can cook — as the actress promoted her latest recipe book.
The 46-year-old founder of lifestyle site Goop was asked during an Instagram Live session about cookbook The Clean Plate: “Do you actually cook?”
She hit back at the question, replying: “Yes I f****** cook. God damn it, you think I would write cookbooks if I didn’t cook?”
After fans leapt to support her, Paltrow said: “Thank you for defending me and f*** that person!”
One of the actress’s first forays in to the culinary world was in 2008 on US cooking show Spain … On The Road Again. She has since penned a series of recipe books including Notes From My Kitchen Table; My Father’s Daughter, featuring dishes that she would cook with her father; and healthy eating guides It’s All Good and It’s All Easy: Delicious Weekday Recipes For The Super-Busy Home Cook.
The Clean Plate was released in January and features recipes for turkey meatball pho, sheet pan chicken broccolini and other healthy options.
“The challenge of making super-clean recipes incredibly delicious comes to fruition,” Paltrow wrote ahead of the book’s release.
Last week, the mother of two used more colourful language while addressing the ageing process — saying she was worried about growing older and not being “f***able”.
In her Goop podcast, The Beauty Closet, Paltrow asked: “What happens to your identity as a woman if you’re not f***able and beautiful?”
