GWCT Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak

The popular GWCT Scottish Game Fair has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The annual gathering in the grounds of Scone Palace was due to take place from Friday, July 3 until Sunday, July 5.

However, due to the coronavirus crisis, the decision as been made to instead hold the game fair from Friday, October 2 until Sunday, October 4.

Hugo Straker, chairman of the GWCT Scottish Game Fair, said: “These are very concerning times, but the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust is fully committed to running the Scottish Game Fiar later this year and we have taken the decision to postpone rather than cancel.

“We are grateful to Scone Palace for being able to accommodate the new dates.

“It is a testing time for many industries right now and we are mindful that the Scottish Game Fair is crucial to a great many businesses and individuals who work in sporting goods, land management, as well as food and drinks business, for whom the Scottish Game Fair is an important part of the calendar.

“We look forward to welcoming both our visitors and traders to Scone in October with optimism and a fighting spirit that is synonymous with the game community.”

All tickets already purchased for the game fair will be value for the new dates, and the ticketing agency will be in touch with individual customers to issue new tickets soon.

Similarly all trade stand applications will be rolled over to the new dates.
