Gwalior teen kills self, pleads with PM Narendra Modi to fulfil last song-dance wish

BHOPAL: A 16-year-old boy threw himself in front of a train in Gwalior on Monday, leaving behind a note where he pleads with the Prime Minister to fulfil his last wish of a song and dance in his name. Ajit Vanshkar, a class 11 student, wanted to be a dancer, but his family wouldn’t allow it.

He has asked that the MP government produce a song dedicated to him, which will be sung by Arijit Singh, and choreographed by Sushant Khatri, said police. Ajit’s body was found on the tracks a short distance from his home in Cancer Pahadiya locality on Sunday afternoon.

His family members are shattered and have told police he had no reason to kill himself. In the final note, however, the teenager has written about his unfulfilled wish of becoming a dancer.

It says his family dissuaded him because they thought only the rich could make it. No one is to be held accountable for his suicide, says Ajit’s note. Family members could not be contacted for their version. Police have registered a case.
