Guy Ritchie reveals his pub is in ruins after 12-hour fire ravages through building

Guy Ritchie has revealed the charred remains of his Lore of the Land pub after a huge fire ravaged the property for 12 hours on Wednesday.

It took 70 fire crew to put out the blaze, however as can be seen in the director's Instagram post, the pub's interior is destroyed.

In a sombre snap Guy shows the extent of the damage with charred furniture upended on the ash-covered floor of the property he bought in London in 2018.

The photo was posted alongside a video of smoke pouring out from the windows of the Fitzrovia watering hole, which Guy only opened last year.

At 12:15pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called out to the Lore of the Land pub, located on Conway Street.

The blaze, which is believed to have started in the kitchen, saw ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters arrive at the scene to tackle the fire earlier today.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said the fire was inside the extraction system of the pub and it was proving "challenging" to tackle.

The emergency services managed to get the fire under control by 3:48pm, but the cause of the blaze was still under investigation.

LFB's Twitter account shared that thankfully, there were no injuries reported.

Station Commander Jason Fisby said: "The fire was within the extraction system from the first floor to the roof vent. There were no reports of any injuries.

"Access to the seat of the fire was challenging and very labour intensive. The number of fire engines at the scene was a reflection of the need for a high turn over of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

"Firefighters carried out salvage work and trying to prevent water damage on the floors below."

Lore of the Land pub is owned by Fat Boy Pub Company, which was founded in 2018.

Guy is listed as a director of the firm on Companies House.

A statement on the pub's website from Guy says: "I've always had a passion for beer and pub culture, so it seemed fitting that I should set up a brewery.

"I'm interested in trying to add a subtle and contemporary change to the traditional drink of Britain."

Guy is famously known for directing hit films including Sherlock Holmes and The Gentlemen.

Back in November, the famous director threw a wrap party for his film Wrath of Man at his pub.

On Instagram, he wrote: "Last year I spent a great Thanksgiving with some of the Wrath Of Man cast @loreofthelandpub.

"This year looks a little bit quieter. Wishing my American friends a happy Thanksgiving, no matter how and where they're celebrating."

He previously owned a pub in Mayfair with his former wife Madonna.
