Guy Black to join PCC's funding board

Guy Black, the director of corporate communications at the Telegraph group, is to join the Press Board of Finance (Pressbof), the industry body that oversees the funding and running of the Press Complaints Commission (PCC). He will replace Steve Oram, the director of the Newspaper Publishers Association (NPA).

Though no official announcement has yet been made, Oram confirms the switch. "It makes sense for Guy to take the post because of his experience, and I'm sure he'll do a good job, no doubt about it". Oram is referring to the fact that Black previously served as PCC director.

Black will become one of four national newspaper representatives on Pressbof, joining two News International executives, Les Hinton and Clive Milner, and Paul Dacre, editor-in-chief of Associated Newspapers. There are three regional paper representatives: Tim Bowdler of Johnston Press, the Newspaper Society director David Newell, and Robin Burgess of the CN Group. From magazines there are Ian Locks, the director of the Periodical Publishers Association, and Nicholas Coleridge from Conde Nast. Pressbof's treasurer and secretary is Jim Raeburn.
