Guus Til in Rangers transfer claim as midfielder reveals snubbed Ibrox chance

Midfielder Guus Til insists he turned down a move to Rangers in favour of the Bundesliga.

The Spartak Moscow star has joined Freiburg on-loan after a difficult spell in Russia following a £17million move.

Reports claimed Til was on Steven Gerrard 's radar, as well as clubs in the Netherlands.

And the 22-year-old claims he could've chosen to link up with Gerrard in the Premiership.

He said: "I could also have gone to PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord and Rangers, but I think the Bundesliga is the best of all competitions for me and I look forward to playing in it.

"I've heard from many people that Freiburg are a very family-run club and I'm happy to be a part of it.

"The pace is fast in the Bundesliga, it suits my style of play and I didn't have to think long about the offer."

Gerrard has made it clear he still wants to strengthen his midfield area before the transfer window slams shut later this year, on October 5.
