'Gutted' - Reading boss had this to say about Nottingham Forest postponement

Reading boss Mark Bowen was "gutted" to see Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Nottingham Forest postponed.

Heavy rain left the City Ground pitch "unplayable", according to match referee Geoff Eltringham.

That left the recently-appointed Bowen frustrated not to have a game following a 1-0 win over Preston North End and a 2-2 draw at Queens Park Rangers.

"We're gutted the match had to be called off," he told Berkshire Live. "We were feeling confident going into the game we could get a result.

"They had lost their past two matches - away at Wigan and at home to Hull City - and we have been in the ascendancy.

"But maybe we should be thankful too. We have had some injuries and our physical output over the past two matches has been the highest of the season.

"So in that respect maybe it has worked out OK."

The match will now have to be rearranged for a new date, to be confirmed in due course.
