'Gutted' Neal Ardley makes Notts County vow

Notts County boss Neal Ardley has vowed the Magpies will "keep going".

Notts looked set to get back to winning ways in the National League on Tuesday night as they led 1-0 at Halifax thanks to a goal from Elisha Sam.

But the home side scored an equaliser in stoppage time to deny Ardley's side victory.

The 1-1 draw, which follows league defeats to Maidenhead and Aldershot, leaves the Magpies in 12th place in the table after seven matches.

And Ardley said: "Obviously I'm gutted and emotions run wild when you're 94 minutes in and you've got the three points in the bag.

"But they (the players) feel worse. They feel worse in there as a group.

"They've run themselves into the ground for the three points and probably should have got the second goal and killed the game off.

"But there's no point, at this point now, having a go.

"This is the way it goes when you're trying to get that momentum going, you know.

"You think you come away from home and battle out a 1-0 win and that might send you on your way and then this happens.

"And it always happens when things are tough and that's sport, that's football.

"When things are going well it happens naturally and winning games becomes easier and at the moment every mistake we seem to make seems to get punished and we're finding it difficult.

"But we'll keep going and, like I've said, over 46 games I'm confident in the group."
