Arsenal fans have been expressing their displeasure with Aaron Ramsdale having been left on the bench for England against Andorra.
There were suggestions that the former Sheffield United stopper could potentially have been handed his international debut on Saturday evening following his impressive start to life at the Emirates Stadium.
Since swapping Sheffield United for Arsenal in the summer, the 23-year-old goalkeeper has made seven appearances for the Gunners after usurping Bernd Leno in the battle to be Mikel Arteta’s number one.
In that time, he has claimed five clean sheets in all competitions and has become somewhat of a cult hero with the Gunners faithful.
The disappointment was palpable then when as the Three Lions team was announced just over an hour before the clash at the Estadio Nacional, Ramsdale was left on the sidelines alongside regular England first choice Jordan Pickford.
Sam Johnstone, who was also linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, was the man instead selected between the sticks by Gareth Southgate.

Whilst Ramsdale misses out this time, he will aim to get another opportunity for his Three Lions debut during the remainder of the international break.
England are next in action against Hungary at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday evening as they look to take another step towards qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
After that, Ramsdale’s next chance to play will be Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Monday, October 18.
