Gustavo Scarpa sums up life at Nottingham Forest in two words

Gustavo Scarpa says he feels 'completely fulfilled' after joining Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian midfielder arrived at the City Ground on a free transfer in January, and has made seven appearances thus far. He has quickly become a favourite among the Reds' fanbase.

While his adaptation to a new country may not have been too difficult given he already speaks the language, Scarpa revealed it is 'everything I imagined'.

"I am completely fulfilled. The culture, the day-to-day education… It was everything I imagined when I decided to come here," he told GQ Brasil.

"When I arrived, nobody recognised me. Now people approach me, children ask to take a picture but’s is a little different from Brazil. I think the approach is more restrained."

However, the 29-year-old explained the British accent can be 'difficult' to understand. "I can understand what the coach is saying, but the accent makes it a little difficult sometimes," he added. "But I always take the doubt away at the time, not to have [any] confusion."

With his love for skateboarding unquestionable, Scarpa revealed he is trying to persuade teammate Renan Lodi to join him. "He bought a helmet, an elbow pad… He doesn’t know anything, he’s learning. I remembered my beginning too. He’s enjoying it.

"I’m always at two tracks here: Flo Skatepark and Lady Bay Skatepark. There are people here who know me, but I usually ride alone."
