Gustavo Scarpa makes Nottingham Forest promise after landing 'dream' transfer

Nottingham Forest's first signing-to-be of the January transfer window Gustavo Scarpa has described the move as a "dream" that he "can't wait" to begin.

Scarpa, 28, will officially become a Forest player on January 1st when the winter window opens and has finally been announced by the club after months of reports about the player's future with the Reds. The player posed for photographs wearing the Garibaldi inside an empty City Ground over the weekend after arriving in the country earlier this week.

After arriving in Nottingham, Scarpa was seen skateboarding around the city centre as well as watching the club's pre-season friendly against Stoke City on Friday night. In advance of the transfer being announced, the one-cap Brazil international spoke to the club's media team for the first time.

"I'm very happy to be here; it's a dream for me," said Scarpa. "It's a new challenge, and I can't wait for it to begin. It's always been an ambition since I was a little kid to play in Europe, and my dream is to play in the Premier League."

Describing himself as a player, Scarpa added: "I'm a technical player, but also, I've developed my game defensively over the past couple of seasons. I'm very dedicated, hard-working, and I'm excited to get started now."
