Gus Poyet disagrees with Jose Mourinho as he delivers his verdict on Tottenham's 'mini crisis'

Former Tottenham midfielder Gus Poyet says his former club are in the midst of a 'mini crisis'.

Jose Mourinho may have denied Spurs are in a 'crisis' after their latest setback, a defeat to London rivals and high-flying West Ham United, but that's not the case, according to Poyet.

It's now back-to-back defeats for Tottenham and three from four in all competitions, leaving them in ninth place in the Premier League, nine points off West Ham in fourth.

Mourinho finds himself under pressure amid Tottenham's latest blip, and former midfielder Poyet does believe the Portuguese boss has a 'problem' on his hands.

"I think, if you only look at the results, they are bad and there is a mini crisis," said Poyet on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

"In terms of playing, there are moments in every game. But they were not like that before. As a manager, you go home with the feeling of the last half-hour.

"Sometimes, you win a game in the last minute and you play terrible, this is the opposite.

"The last 25 minutes, especially with [Gareth] Bale on the pitch, they look a very dangerous team attacking. But the feeling was better because of the final minutes, but they were already 2-0 down and that's really bad."

Poyet also believes Spurs and Arsenal may struggle to oust the likes of West Ham, Aston Villa and Everton from the race for a top six spot.

"For Spurs and Arsenal to have four teams ahead of them who are not normally in the top six, it's a big problem for them," he added.

"These teams keep winning and they don't have the pressure. They are teams who can really concentrate on the league.

"Spurs have the [Carabao] cup, it's massive for [Jose] Mourinho and Tottenham as a club, and then the European competition, which they have to go until the end."
