Gurugram: South City 1 owners under scanner for extra floors

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has recommended registration of an FIR against property owners in South City 1 for covering 100% plot area and constructing additional floors without permission from the competent authority.

The owners, who did not procure the occupation certificates, are under the lens for violation of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.

“The owners of house number Q 411 and Q 412 in South City carried out unauthorised construction by covering 100% setback area and did not obtain mandatory approval for extra floors,” said district town planner (enforcement) RS Batth.

He said the property is part of a licensed plotted colony for which licence was granted under Section 3 of the Act. “The owners also combined two different units into one without taking permission from the competent authority,” said the official.

He said the owners were served show-cause notices and restoration orders but had failed to furnish a satisfactory reply, following which the DTCP recommended an FIR at the Sector 40 police station.
