GURUGRAM: The decomposed body of a 70-year-old man was found inside the bedroom of his apartment at Ridgewood Estate in DLF 4 near Galleria Market on Saturday morning, police said, ruling out any foul play.
The deceased, Mukesh Kumar, was alone in the apartment while his wife was in the US. When Kumar didn’t respond to phone calls for three to four days, his wife called Kumar’s brother and the security guard stationed at the gate of the residential tower to check on him.
“When the security guards checked, they found the house locked from inside. They informed the police station, following which we reached the spot,” said Pawan Kumar, SHO, Sector 29 police station.
The SHO said that cops had to break open the door. “We found no one inside. Then we searched in the bedrooms and found Kumar lying on the floor,” he said.
As per the preliminary investigation, the cause of the death is natural. Police said that there were no injuries on the body, and it appeared he fell from the bed after suffering an “attack”.
“His brother didn’t file any complaint. It is a natural death, and there is no foul play,” said the SHO.
According to the residents of the society, Kumar also had been in the US but returned a week ago.
An inquest proceeding has been initiated under 174 of the CrPC, 1973.
